Swede A Film Opening Revised 10/10/10

Sweding comes from the film "Be Kind Rewind" and the onset of viral video's on websites such as YouTube. The tapes in the film "Be Kind Rewind" are described as coming for Sweden as an excuse for charging high rental fees. It is basically a spoof of a film they try to replicate the film on a low budget in less time with elements of humour.

For films to Swede I thought
Jurassic Park
Transformers
Pirates of the Caribbean
Brokeback Mountain
Hot Fuzz
District 13

Eventually deciding on District 13 because of it's availability. It is a film made in the past set in 2010 where a wall is built around Paris suburb that contains the city's most criminal elements. Kingpin Taha rules all that is inside, but makes the mistake of kidnapping a the sister of a local imprisoned hero, Leito. With nothing else to lose Leito teams up with an undercover cop to take Taha down.

I decided this so that I could involve the match on action of the par cour it involves, the 180 degree rule between Leito and Taha with a shot reverse shot of their conversation.

To begin with I will research a scene to do hopefully the opening if it is interesting as this is in the coursework. I will research costume locations and mise-en-scene, costume, special effects and props used in the film. The original was french budgeted at 12 million euros we will have a budget of nothing. Released on the 7th of July 2006. Since swede films are often satirical i researched things that could be made fun out of. Firstly the film involves a lot of impressive action, crime, violence and adult themes. It is french set in the future but it is actually the present today.

I found that the costumes used chains, baggy tracksuit trousers, sporty tops, vests shaven hair cut in words such as K2 tattoos on the knuckles.

Props include brass knuckles, guns, packets of drugs and gangster cars equipt out and colourful

Locations mise -en scene were high rise council flats bare with graphity and untidy.
